There are six regions in the state with tasting rooms for you to visit and enjoy. Located in beautiful Elgin, Arizona Callaghan Vineyards is the second oldest vineyard in the state and specializes in wines full of character. Deep Sky Vineyard
After falling in love in Argentina with the region’s Malbec wines we bought a small vineyard in the Uco Valley, just south of Mendoza. The hot sun, ample water supply and high desert soils produced luscious wines that exploded with flavor. We were hooked and couldn’t help but notice the similarities between Argentina and Arizona. Was it possible we’d forgotten to look in our own backyard? We had to try and grow Malbec in Arizona! Dos Cabezas WineWorks
Since 1995, Dos Cabezas WineWorks has been growing grapes and producing wines in Southern Arizona. Originally located in the Kansas Settlement, the winery and 80 acres of vineyard were pioneered by the late visionary, Al Buhl. Todd Bostock joined the team as winemaker in 2002 and by the end of 2006, the Bostock family took over operations of the winery, and it was moved to Sonoita where it resides today. The winery is supplied with distinctive, high-quality fruit from its two estate vineyards: Pronghorn Vineyard in Sonoita, and Cimarron Vineyard in the Kansas Settlement.

Pillsbury Wine Company - Willcox
Growing up in NZ Owner, Sam Pillsbury witnessed the phenomenon of growing classical wine grapes in unusual places. On a camping trip in Arizona he thought he could try the same thing here. The location he picked was a high-altitude desert valley in Cochise County, 200 miles SE of Phoenix. This all came from a desire to get away from mass-produced ‘McDonalds’ wines and create a distinctive regional Boutique wine that was 100% Arizona and 100% original. He gambled that the high-altitude, endless sunshine, sandy loam and dry desert would make for a perfect Terroir, and in 2000 he started by planting 20 acres of Rhone varieties at 4300 ft in Cochise County.
